HOW TO TURN ON HIBERNATE MODE ON A COMPUTER RUNNING WINDOWS 10

Hibernate mode is a very helpful function that allows you to temporarily switch off your computer while preserving all of the open programs and processes for later use. Although the Hibernate mode is quite similar to Sleep mode, it doesn't require any electricity and lets you pick up just where you left off in a matter of seconds. Hibernation mode is not activated by default on Windows 10 PCs, but you can add it to their Start menus with only a few mouse clicks.

Consider using the Hibernate option if you want to keep your computer running while preserving battery life as much as possible.

Hibernate mode is often activated on desktop computers. With Windows 10 machines, however, this is not the case.

After introducing Hibernate mode to Windows 10's Start menu, we'll demonstrate how to turn it on.

To activate and deactivate Windows 11's Hibernation mode, we offer an alternative guide if you choose to upgrade your operating system.

Hibernate vs. sleep modes in Windows 10

By selecting the sleep option, you can turn off most of your computer's hardware while keeping your current data in RAM. In Sleep mode, your computer will still use some power, albeit much less. So it makes sense to use this option if you'll just be gone from your computer for a brief period of time.

One advantage of using sleep mode is that when your PC wakes up after a brief period of time, you may immediately resume where you left off. A similar function is offered by the Hibernate option, commonly referred to as Hibernation mode, which also shuts down your computer while storing any open files and programs on your hard drive. Choose the hibernate option because it uses no power at all if you're going to be away for a time and want to resume where you left off when you return. Only the fact that it takes a little longer to start makes hibernation mode different from sleep mode.

Is using Hibernation Mode dangerous? Sadly, a variety of technical issues may occur after switching Windows 10's Hibernation mode on. Your computer might not be able to successfully go into hibernation, for instance. The hibernation process on your PC could occasionally take too long. You can utilize our troubleshooting guidelines if you encounter any of these issues. If you follow the instructions in the pertinent manuals, you should be able to resolve the problem in a matter of minutes.
